This project presents a rebellion towards
the idea of good or proper sleeping. Nowadays, People apply technology and
therapies to improve their living quality. Getting a better sleep has become a
particular important factor, in the effort paid to
achieve a perfect quality of life. As for the concept “overcoming insomnia”
that has gradually reached a social consensus, I want to raise some doubts.
Will the endless desire of pursuing a higher quality of sleep creates more
anxiety and sacrifices individuality?
Through medication, behavioral, and
cognitive therapies, people try to eliminate or cure the appearance of
insomnia. The reason why people show extreme repulsion to sleep loss is because
it will result in mental distress and low work efficiency. It also leads to
most people become insomniacs and consumers of sleeping aid product. But it’s
worth noting that the stable energy status they gained from having a quality
sleep will be threw into a new round of social competition, where will create
more stress and negative emotion. They ignore the initial reason of losing
sleep is from mental abuse brought by pressure and depression from work or
society.
